Unearthed
An exhibition of paintings, ceramics and other works from Plot can be viewed in Asylum Studios Gallery, Bentwaters Base, Rendlesham, Suffolk, from 18th September to 27th September 2026. Open weekends 11am to 4pm.Unearthed is a Plot project, bringing art, growing and the land together, supported by a bursary from a-n The Artists Information Company.
PLOT
Growing is the slow part. The same plot, the same soil, the undergrowth, it changes insidiously, suddenly looking different because you’ve changed. The work becomes a record of those shifts, a map of abundance or desert, according to the weather and the ability to understand how to tend the land. Growth doesn’t always look impressive; sometimes it’s noticing that a weed is just a plant out of place, or the light is falling differently as the sun moves across the sky, or the application of a stroke of bright blue across a canvas. Sharing and tasting the produce completes the circle.
